Welcome to the 2mm Cyber Tank
Sculpting Page
Welcome to my 2mm Sci-Fi sculpting
article (Second set).
After producing the first set of 2mm
sci-fi models I still had lots of
ideas of other models to produce in
the same scale and style.

Pic 1
First up I had a go at wheeled
vehicles. To keep the same style I
felt normal wheels wouldn't look right
so I went with ball tires and a much
more rounded look to the whole vehicle.
Pic 1 shows the wheeled heavy tank.

Returning to the idea of doing tracked
vehicles (I had made a tracked mech
for the first set) I once again found
getting nice even tacks at this scale
difficult. But hit on the idea of
doing one complete track and then
cutting out the middle section. That
way the two sides matched a lot better
than trying to do them separately.
For the tracked vehicles I made them
more angular. So far I've only made
two tracked vehicles but do intend
to return to them at some point.

When making the first dropship I had
a problem with a large part of the
model being mad aout of green stuff.
Grenn stuff is a bit like rubber when
set and so for the next dropship I
used magic sculpt which sets like
rock for the main body of the vehicle
and added green stuff for the detail.
You can see this for the dropship
in Pic 3.
I'm pleased to say this worked perfectly
for the mould making process.

After wheeled and tracked vehicles
I thought I aught to make some proper
grav tanks and vehicles. Because grav
technology should always be more advanced
than other forms of propulsion I went
with a clean mimimalistic appraoch
to the models. Pic 4 shows the missile
tank and medium tank.

Pic 5
In the first set I had only made two
flying units, a VTOL gunship and an
attack jet. For the second set I expanded
on those with a stocky looking attack
jet and a small skiff/hover jet. As
shown in picture 5 this was to look
like a small one man fighter. I built
the whole thing on the wing section
and added two round jets to the back
of the cockpit.

Pic 6
Because I was creating these models
in an Anime style it was only a matter
of time before I returned to doing
mech type combat walkers. Pic 6 shows
the spider walker. A simple four legged
design with cockpit and double barreled
canon at the front.

Pic 7
Continuing with the walkers the
last thing I created for the range
was the some what influenced transport
walker.
The second set of 2mm models was also
picked up for production by Ground
Zero Games
