Welcome to the 6mm / 2mm Power
Armour Sculpting Page
Every range of sci-fi minis needs
power armoured troops. So for the
2mm sci-fi range produced by GZG
I thought I'd create some miniatures
that would be a cross between power
armour and small one man walkers.
I also felt that these miniatures
could be multi scale working just
as well for 6mm.
I decided to make three miniatures
at the same time with different styles.
Pic 1
I started with a very simple wire
armature and attached it to a base
to make it easier to work on. I then
added a body over the armature..

Pic 2
Next stage was to add detail to the
arms and legs. Pic 2 shows the addition
of shoulder pads, a front cockpit
and leg details.

Pic 3
Next up was to add some weaponry.
For the square looking mini I thought
I'd go for a simple round barrelled
cannon and a flame thrower. For the
flame thrower I also added fuel tanks
and a feed pipe for the weapon. For
the arms I went for a simple rubber
covering machinery sheath.

Pic 4
For the second mini I went with
a rounded theme, a bit anime looking.
Once again I added shoulder pads and
weaponry. I went for a twin barreled
cannon and a simple round barrel cannon
same as the first mini. To finish
the mini off I added a backpack.
Pic 5
Because I had done the mini in
an anime style the cockpit needed
to also be anime in style. So I went
for a trio of eye senors for the front.

Pic 6
For the last mini I went for a heavier
version for the last of the power
armour walkers. Again the process
was a simple armature with the main
body added first. Cockpit and shoulder
pads followed. I did have some trouble
with the weapons at first and so ended
up with using tubing over the armatures.

Pic 7
The shoulder pads just wern't working
for me so I took them off and tried
again with magic sculpt instead of
the green stuff. I also felt at this
point that if this was to be a heavy
version of the power armour then it
needed to be better armed. So I added
a double barrelled cannon to the top
of the mini with a piped supply.

Pic 8
Picture 8 shows the minis next
to other miniatures to show the size.
The first is a 2mm super heavy tank
with the second showing a 6mm infantry
mini from Ground
Zero Games.
So you see these miniatures could
easily be used for 2mm and 6mm gaming.

Lastly picture 9 shows an early
development shot of all three power
armoured walkers next to each other
to compare sizes.
